About Tessa Works
We built the hire we couldn’t find.
Every business that runs on its phone has the same problem and the same bad options: voicemail nobody returns, a service that can only take a message, or a person you cannot afford to have sitting there at 8pm on a Sunday.
Placeholder — not final
The founding story goes here — who we are, which business, and the call that started it. Deliberately left blank rather than invented: this is the one page where made-up content would undercut the entire argument.
Why she’s careful
Every limit she holds came from a call that went wrong
None of this was designed in the abstract. Each of these is a real failure, on a real call, that we found and fixed — and the fix is why she behaves the way she does now.
She reads an address back
Speech recognition heard "Jem Street". The street is Gem. She read her own transcription back, the caller confirmed it, and a crew was very nearly sent to an address that does not exist. Now she checks what she heard against the map, and when the two disagree she says so.
She will not invent an opening
Asked about a date with nothing free, she once filled the silence with times from a different day. The caller would have turned up to nothing. Now an empty day is stated as an empty day, with the nearest real openings offered instead.
She corrects herself out loud
A booking was confirmed to a caller that had not been written down. They would have hung up believing they had an appointment. Now when her words and the record disagree, she says so before the call ends — and if it happens twice, she hands you the call.
She asks where, before she offers when
Jobs were being booked against a postcode, which is not somewhere a van can go. Now a business that sends people out cannot be offered a time until there is a street address to send them to.
This is also why we won’t tell you she never makes a mistake. She does. What we built is an agent that notices, says so, and does not let a wrong answer reach your calendar quietly.
What we won’t build
The clearest thing we can tell you about us
An agent that pretends to be a person
She is not trying to pass as human, and we are not aiming for it.
An agent that guesses to seem helpful
A confident wrong answer costs you a job. Silence costs you a question.
Anything that sells on your behalf
She books work and takes messages. Quoting, negotiating and closing stay yours.
Where we are
Early, and straight about it
We work closely with a small number of businesses rather than loosely with a lot of them. If you take her on now you will get our attention, and your calls will shape what she learns next — which is exactly how everything above got built.
